Play Date...

Saturday, we went to Jessala's parents land in Wetumpka. They have over 30 acres of beautiful country. There's a HUGE garage/barn/building that has a trampoline inside along with a bunch of other stuff and there was still room for the kids to ride their scooters. They got to ride on a toy Gator, a four-wheeler, and a real tractor. SO MUCH FUN! They didn't want to leave, but hopefully we'll get to do it again sometime. :)

Racing Day!

Today was Daniel's first Cub Scout Pinewood Derby. He and Daddy did a great job on his car, #95 of course for Lightning McQueen. He won 4th place in the Best in Show category. Pretty fun morning. So proud of my little man!

The rest of the day was spent at home - laundry, balancing the checkbook, cleaning out the desk, etc. Watched a chick flick on the Hallmark channel tonight - A Taste of Romance - sweet but very predictable. :)

Happy Birthday, Daniel!

Yesterday and today, we celebrated Daniel's 8th birthday. Love, love, love that little (big) boy. He's growing up too fast. Sigh. I think back to the beginning of our marriage and how I DESPERATELY wanted and prayed for a son. What a tremendous blessing he is and has been these past eight years. So thankful.

Yesterday morning, I made his favorite - blueberry muffins and last night we went to (his choice) Cracker Barrel for supper. His birthday meal consisted of TWO grilled cheese sandwiches and a scoop of ice cream. We had a little birthday party for him today. The Layfields and the Hornes came to help us celebrate. I cooked his favorite spaghetti and garlic bread, and chicken tenders. He loved his Angry Birds cake and said it was "the best birthday". :)

Sunday

Had another wonderful Sunday School lesson and sermon this morning. We have the best church in the world! This afternoon, Coby came over and the boys and I played a bunch of basketball. Later, I made chocolate chip walnut cookies - yum. Gotta get rid of them though so I can get back on the diet tomorrow - yay! ;)

Busy Saturday...

Daddy and Daniel had a very busy day. They started off with the MPC men's fellowship breakfast, trips to Hobby Lobby and the Boy Scout store for pinewood derby supplies, and out to Al's place for horseback riding. Daniel got to ride the horse, brush him, and clean out his hooves. He had a great time. Me and Evan and Emma Grace had breakfast with MawMaw and went to the flea market and a few stores. Good day overall. :)
